What is CrossFit Kids? – Adults are not the only ones who can benefit from the CrossFit methodology. Kids can benefit too! KW CrossFit has certified CrossFit Kids instructors, complete with background checks, who teach kids of all ages the same principles as the adults. However, more focus is put on developing the general physical skills of coordination, agility, balance, flexibility and accuracy. The benefit of honing these skills is that it increases kids ability to control their body. Additionally, many studies have shown that exercise can benefit the cognitive abilities of kids.
There is no need for an introduction class. Kids who join CrossFit kids are instructed on the proper use of equipment and are taught proper technique of all movements during class.
Classes are offered at regular times – Schedule. We have two CrossFit Kids Classes. There is a CrossFit Kids for 10 and under and CrossFit Teens for those kids 11 and older.
KW CrossFit is interested in developing an afterschool program that would provide a structured program of exercise and studying for kids. This program would have kids participate in a 45-60 minute CrossFit class and then have structured study time afterwards with a facilitator/teacher.
In addition, KW CrossFit can provide strength and metabolic conditioning for athletes in various sports and activities. Classes for these groups of athletes will be provided at mutually agreeable days and times.
